WHERE TO SHOP

Camerons Holiday Cottage is situated in the Highland village of Foyers which is on the quieter south side of Loch Ness. The cottage is midway between Fort Augustus and the City of Inverness. In Fort Augustus there are small stores, pubs, various eateries and a petrol station.

DIRECTIONS FROM CAMERONS TO INVERNESS

Camerons is about 19 miles from Inverness. Leaving the cottage track turn right on to the road, drive through the village of Foyers and then alongside the southern tranquil shore line of Loch Ness. It is a single track road with passing places and can be busy during the holiday season so do drive with care. The village of Dores is about 11 miles from Camerons at the eastern end of Loch Ness. Here you will pass The Dores Inn on your left and join the wider B862 main road into Inverness. Pass or pop in to the Holm Mills Shopping Village on the outskirts of Inverness on your left – but be warned - you will not come away empty handed. The perfect place to purchase any gifts before returning home. Tesco Superstore is open 24 hours and is on the outskirts of the city on the A96 Inverness to Nairn road – follow signs for the airport. About a 40 minute drive from Camerons. It is part of a complex of stores including Homebase, Argos, Pet City, Outfit, Boots, Clarks Shoes and several more stores. Also fast food outlets.Ample parking/petrol station. Warner Cinema complex near by.
There is also another 24 hour Tesco Store at Inshes in Inverness near to the Raigmore Hospital. Smaller Tesco open at the end of the Dores Road roundabout. Turn right at this roundabout to locate the new Asda store on your right near to Fairways Golf Course.

It will not only save you time, which is very valuable on your holiday, but also allows you more precious space in your car. If you decide on a Saturday delivery please choose a delivery slot after 4pm. You will no doubt be asked by Tesco, Sainsbury's or Asda for a contact telephone number and we suggest you give our home phone number at Glenlia Farm - 01456 486475. That way we can inform you should there be any delay in your delivery. We can also be on hand to take your delivery into the cottage should you be delayed for any reason. Think about this when you visit us next time.

Once in the city of Inverness there is a large Morrisons Supermarket with ample parking on the Millburn Road. Also the large Eastgate Shopping Centre with underground parking. This centre has all the usual shops associated with a complex as well as many open-plan eating places. Parking spaces byInverness shopping precinct the River Ness for a gentle stroll along the river over one of the bridges and up into the city passing Inverness Castle which now houses the Justice Courts. 

The city of Inverness has a wide variety of shops and stores including Marks & Spencer, Lakeland, Primark, Debenhams, Waterstones, Boots, W.H.Smiths, Edinburgh Wool Mill to name but a few and also a variety of individual fascinating souvenir shops. There is a new precincted area with shops and eating places and often the piper is there to welcome you.

There are over 500 tartans available from small mementoes and gifts to full highland dress. Location - From Camerons Cottage turn right and travel along the Dores Road towards Inverness. Go straight across the first roundabout on the outskirts of the city and pass the Mace store and P.O. on your right. Then look out for the signs on the left to the Holm Mills Shopping Village and James Pringle weavers. Spend……spend……spend

LOCAL SHOP - Foyers Stores….This is the nearest local general store to Camerons and is a short stroll away in the local village of Foyers on the road towards Inverness. This small and friendly family run store with Post Office is opposite the famous Falls of Foyers Waterfall and provides general provisions, newspapers along with other useful products. 

But do come and visit our own Tea Rooms and Farm Shop opposite Camerons Cottage on Glenlia Farm.....you will not be disappointed.
